Tesla signs $16.5B deal with Samsung to make AI chips

Tesla has signed a massive $16.5 billion deal with Samsung to manufacture AI chips. These chips will be used in self-driving cars, robotics, and Tesla's Dojo supercomputer. Production will begin in late 2025 using Samsung’s advanced 4nm and 2nm technology.
Key Points (Expanded):
Major Investment: This is one of Samsung's biggest chip deals ever. It shows how much Tesla believes in custom AI hardware for its future.
Advanced Technology: Samsung's 4nm and 2nm chip processes will enable Tesla to build quicker and more efficient chips. These chips will enhance self-driving cars and improve AI training.
Tesla’s Vision: The chips are key for Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) system. They will also power the Dojo supercomputer, which trains AI models with driving video data.
Made in Korea: Samsung will manufacture the product at its plant in South Korea. Production will start at the end of 2025.
PayPal to allow businesses to accept more than 100 cryptocurrencies

PayPal is expanding its crypto payment options. Businesses using PayPal Checkout can now accept payments in top cryptocurrencies. This includes Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH). This update makes it easier for merchants to tap into the growing crypto economy.
Key Points (Expanded):
New Checkout Feature: Customers can now choose “Pay with Crypto” at online checkout. This makes using crypto as easy as card payments on supported sites.
Business-Friendly: Merchants don’t need to manage or hold crypto. PayPal changes crypto payments to fiat currency (USD) before settling. This helps businesses avoid risks from price volatility.
Expanding Adoption: This step aims to boost the use of crypto in commerce. Younger users are increasingly choosing digital assets instead of traditional money.
Who Can Use It: This feature is now open to businesses in the U.S. that use PayPal’s standard checkout platform.
European carmakers get a reality check from Trump as shares slide

European carmakers fear what might occur if Donald Trump becomes U.S. President again. In 2018, Trump nearly put high tariffs on European cars. Many in the industry worry he could do it again if he is re-elected.
Key Points (Expanded):
Threat of Tariffs: If Trump wins in 2024, he might raise tariffs on European cars. This would hit German brands like BMW, Mercedes, and Volkswagen. As a result, their prices in the U.S. could rise, hurting sales.
De Germany at Risk: Germany exports billions worth of cars to the U.S. each year. Automakers like Volkswagen Group, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz would face big losses from new tariffs.
Warning Signs: Trump’s America First policies may come back. They could focus on protecting U.S. carmakers such as Ford, GM, and Tesla. That means foreign brands may face stricter trade conditions.
Industry Uncertainty: European carmakers are reassessing their U.S. strategies. They are preparing for possible trade disruptions and rule changes if Trump comes back to power.
