Don’t get SaaD. Get Rippling.

Disconnected software creates what we call the execution tax: wasted time, duplicate work, and stalled momentum. From onboarding checklists to reconciling expenses, SaaD slows every team down.

Rippling is the cure. With one system of record, you can update employee data once, and it syncs everywhere: payroll, benefits, expenses, devices, and apps.

Leaders gain real-time visibility. Teams regain lost hours. Employees get the seamless experience they deserve .

That’s why companies like Barry’s and Forterra turned to Rippling – to replace sprawl with speed and clarity.

It’s time to stop paying for inefficiency.

Don’t get SaaD. Get Rippling.

OpenAI and the race for AI-driven commerce

At its latest Dev Day, OpenAI showed off how it’s weaving commerce directly into ChatGPT. It lets users buy items right in the chat. Features like Instant Checkout make this easy. OpenAI is turning ChatGPT into a new commerce layer. Now, users can shop and retailers can sell all in one place.

Key Points:

  • Instant Checkout & Agentic Shopping: OpenAI has launched Instant Checkout. This system lets users buy items through ChatGPT at any store that accepts Shopify, Stripe, or Etsy.

  • Retailers and service providers can build their app interfaces in ChatGPT. This means you can book Uber rides, order groceries, or find a plumber without leaving the chat.

  • OpenAI’s cut and influence: The specific business terms aren’t public yet. However, OpenAI will likely take a share of transactions on its platform, acting like an “app store” for commerce.

  • Google is promoting its AP2 agentic commerce protocol. This is to compete with what OpenAI is developing.

  • Big opportunity, big question: The system might move a lot of online shopping from search engines, like Google, to chat-based agents. The big unknown is whether users will adopt this buying method or stick to regular apps and websites.

xAI hires former Morgan Stanley banker Anthony Armstrong as CFO

Elon Musk’s AI firm, xAI, has brought on Anthony Armstrong as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Armstrong previously worked at Morgan Stanley. Armstrong will oversee finances not just for xAI but also for X, the social platform merged with xAI.

Key Points:

  • Armstrong previously advised Musk during the $44 billion Twitter acquisition.

  • He’s been involved informally with xAI for weeks before being formally brought on.

  • His appointment follows several notable departures at xAI and X. This includes former CFO Mike Liberatore and X’s CFO Mahmoud Reza Banki.

  • Armstrong will manage financial strategy and operations at a key time. xAI is getting ready for new funding rounds and aims for a higher valuation.

Why it matters:

  • Strengthens the financial leadership at xAI at a time when stability and credibility are important.

  • Signals Musk is consolidating control and aligning the financials of xAI and X closely.

  • Armstrong has dealmaking and capital markets experience. This could help secure large investments or manage complex allocations in AI infrastructure.

Taylor Swift fans accuse singer of using AI in her Google scavenger hunt videos

For her album “The Life of a Showgirl,” Taylor Swift teamed up with Google for a fun scavenger hunt. It featured videos and hidden QR codes. Some fans are now claiming that the campaign’s video clips might be AI-generated. They say some parts of the hunt might not seem fully “real.” TechCrunch reports there’s no confirmation on this.

Key Points:

  • To start the hunt, fans searched “Taylor Swift” on Google and saw a message: “12 cities, 12 doors, 1 video to unlock.” Fans had to find clues, locate doors, scan QR codes, and decode phrases. Eventually, a lyric video for “The Fate of Ophelia” was revealed.

  • Some fans examined the 12 clue videos. They noticed what seemed like fake visual elements. These included lighting, textures, or scenes that looked like CGI or AI composites.

  • It’s not confirmed whether AI was used. Google and Swift’s team haven’t commented publicly on how much (if any) synthetic media was involved.

  • The issue is sensitive because Taylor Swift has raised concerns about AI. This is especially true when AI created misleading images of her.

  • Fans often debate “real vs synthetic.” However, promotional campaigns mix production techniques and digital effects. This can blur the line between human film work and AI help.
